On The Road

Despite my love for living in the country I still love to escape to the big city! Some of my favorite cities are Paris, Manhattan, and Honolulu. I seem to manage at least a couple real trips each year, but when I can’t I can be found happily camping in my T@B teardrop trailer at music festivals.

Catching up on Adventures

Catching up on Adventures

I haven’t posted about many of my adventures lately.  I’m not sure why I stopped, I guess wondering how much of interest it is to anyone, but me. There have been a lot of beach house weekend since it was purchased nearly two years ago, but even with that I still seem to travel pretty […]

Oceans Five - The New Beach House

Oceans Five – The New Beach House

After Geoff and I visited Seabrook in September I kept talking to my sister about how cute it was.  We already have a girls weekend planned for Seabrook in another year or two.  I tried to figure out how I could massage my budget to buy a place there.  Vicki had been considering a vacation […]

Manhattan Fantasy Weekend

Manhattan Fantasy Weekend

Manhattan is one of my favorite places in the world to visit.  I can never quite reconcile my love of big cities with my love of the country so I just travel and visit to get my fill.  You can read about my visits in 2011 and last year.  Since it’s well known in my […]

Beach house in Seabrook

Beach house in Seabrook

Between school, work, and life this update is a little late. Two weekends ago I rented a house over in Seabrook, WA.  Seabrook is a designed and planned town development just a little north of Ocean Shores which is an area we seem to visit again and again.  Normally we stay at the campgrounds in […]

2014 Willamette Country Music Festival

2014 Willamette Country Music Festival

This past weekend was the Willamette Country Music Festival in Brownsville, Oregon. Last year I went with my mother, aunt, and a friend of my aunt’s. The niecelet is a big fan of Blake Shelton now because she watches him on The Voice.  While we were at Wildwood talking about music and musicians I mentioned […]

2014 Pickathon Music Festival

2014 Pickathon Music Festival

Last weekend was the Pickathon Music Festival in Happy Valley, Oregon.  A full three days of music from morning until the wee hours.  This was the first festival that romanced me in to the indie/roots festival scene in 2012 and I attended again last year.  Despite it being numerous times more expensive than many of […]

Wildwood Music Fest 2014

Wildwood Music Fest 2014

This was my second year attending the Wildwood Music Fest and I loved it even more than last time (and I liked it a lot last time).  Geoff had to work, but the niecelet went with me.  She’s a pretty awesome festival date. I don’t even know entirely where to start… as before, the camping […]

Long Beach Camping Trip

Long Beach Camping Trip

Last weekend Geoff and I took a three-day weekend and headed over to the coast to try to do some fishing.  The last few coast trips we stayed in Ocean Shores, but Geoff wanted to try for a site that might have better crabbing (or at least non-commercial) and access to the early salmon run.  […]

Palm Springs Birthday Celebration

Palm Springs Birthday Celebration

This past weekend 12 of us gathered at a vacation home in Palms Springs, CA to celebrate Taner’s 40th birthday.  The house included a pretty large swimming pool complete with several waterfalls, hot tub, and a lake.  A personal chef prepared our meals and really did a fantastic job.  It was one of those few […]

2014 Annual Girls' Weekend - Portland, OR

2014 Annual Girls’ Weekend – Portland, OR

This past weekend was our annual “Girls’ Weekend” trip.  Due to unexpected weather we moved our plans from an off-season vacation rental in Government Camp, OR to Hotel Vintage Plaza in Portland.  Our getaway weekends largely consist of drinking wine, eating unhealthy food, and a lot of relaxing and lounging.  Overall it wasn’t too much […]
